Whether you are just curious about robots or a competition veteran, the Robotics Academy has classes for you!  If you're just starting out, come and take a beginner's class.  If you have been on a robotics team before, you may get instructor approval to take more advanced classes.  Classes may be combined if enrollment is low.  Robotics Team applications will be accepted in November; these classes are a great way to build the skills you need to be on the team!

Anyone may sign up for Basic level classes.  Advanced class requirements are listed below, OR students may obtain instructor approval.  To ensure individual equipment and attention, enrollment limits are listed below.  Sign up for one date per class (except Advanced Projects).

Lean how to build the NXT tri-bot and sensor attachments.

Here is your chance to try more complex and challenging projects!  Activities assigned will depend on each student’s individual level and previous experience.  Projects include robots that look and move like animals, patrol robots, mining robots, candy pickers, and new vehicles.  Come and build something totally new!  Sign up for at least two class dates in order to complete your project(s).  Limit 6

This class is limited to students who have previous experience as builder or programmer on the sMartans robotics team.

Come and work on the new EV3 robots!  You'll progress through the building and software tutorials at your own pace, with instructor guidance as needed.  A great opportunity to learn how to use the EV3 at the next Shocker Mindstorm Competition!

Limit 3-5 depending on equipment availabilty.
